Marching BandThe ELCO High School Band is inclusive of concert, marching, and jazz formats.
Our system of "band is band" offers our students the opportunity to experience multiple facets of instrumental performance while demonstrating school and community spirit, musicianship, and social responsibility without having to sacrifice academic, arts, athletic, or community involvement. The Raider Marching Band performs at all football games, pep rallies, and community parades and celebrations. The band practices during the course of the school day every day, meeting as a class. Additional weekly, evening rehearsals are scheduled for color guard and drum line. Minimal summer rehearsals and a one-week band camp are held each summer to prepare the band for the fall season. |
Concert BandThe ELCO High School Band is inclusive of concert, marching, and jazz formats. Our system of "band is band" offers our students the opportunity to experience multiple facets of instrumental performance while demonstrating school and community spirit, musicianship, and social responsibility without having to sacrifice academic, arts, athletic,
or community involvements. The Raider Concert Band is open to all students who wish to participate in a challenging instrumental setting. Hosting two concerts a year, Holiday and Spring, in the ELCO High School 1,000 seat auditorium, the Raider Band performs a mix of marches, traditional band literature, popular, and modern styles of music. Many concerts have featured guest artists, combined works with chorus, and newly commissioned works. |
Jazz Band
The primary goal of the Raider Jazz Band is to further introduce the styles and varieties of jazz literature at the highest level; while also giving them the knowledge and abilities to continue in music past high school. The band has performed with guest artists, with other local jazz bands, and in conjunction with the ELCO High School Show Choir, and is also invited to perform at community events, school functions, dinner dances, and civic celebrations throughout the year.
