2008 Fall Marching Show
Ladies and gentleman, the 2008 ELCO Raider Band. Our field show this year is entitled “Broadway and Barry.” We present to you some wonderful music from Broadway and Barry Manilow, all with a sweet, Latin groove.
Our show tonight opens with one of the most well-known and beloved songs in all of Broadway, My Favorite Things from the musical, The Sound of Music. Listen closely though, as we spin this classic with a Latin musical twist, featuring soloists Darren Habecker, Pierce Gerhart, and Brandon Klinger. Our next number is the popular tango Hernando’s Hideaway, from the musical The Pajama Game. For our third and final number we take you to that most famous of clubs, the Copacabana, whose story of Lola, Tony, and Rico was told to us by Barry Manilow when the song was released in 1978. But that was 30 years ago, back when Lola had a show.
The band is led by Drum Majors Charles Grove and Jesse Baker.
Section leaders include: Taylor Aponick, Kimberly Wagner, Ezekial Blouch,
